​The Federation of the Hellenic Communities and Societies of South Africa is organising its annual commemoration of the Greek Independence, the Anniversary of 25th March 1821. This will take place on Sunday, 18th March 2018.

This will take place on Sunday, 18th March 2018. The Liturgy and Doxology will commence at 08h30 officiated by His Eminence Archbishop Damaskinos at the Hellenic Orthodox Cathedral of Sts. Constantine and Helen-Johannesburg.

From 12h00 the commemoration parade and festivities will take place at the SAHETI schoolgrounds, Senderwood, Johannesburg.

All of our Organizations have joined forces to celebrate the Greek Nation's Independence Day and to make this a fun-filled and festive day for everyone. Come along and bring your family and friends to join in the celebrations to be remembered by all - with presentations and pageantry including traditional Greek dancing from the Mary Vasiliou group and SAHETI School. There will be Greek food, music and endless FREE entertainment for the kids, young and old. See you all on Sunday, 18th March 2018.
